Description
Few paintings are as haunting as The Prisoners' Round. The Visconti Van Gogh Roller Ball Pen, The Prisoners' Round (Special Edition) translates its muted blues and greys into swirling acrylic resin, crafted in Florence by Visconti.
The painting behind the pen
Painted in 1890 while Van Gogh was at Saint-Rémy, the work shows prisoners walking in a circle in a high-walled courtyard. It is based on an engraving by Gustave Doré and is now in the Pushkin Museum, Moscow.
