Since 2005, Sailor's ink blenders have travelled to stores across Japan, mixing custom fountain pen inks for customers on the spot at Ink Studio events. For the Sailor's Voyage ink set, four of those blenders each created an original ink of their own, so every bottle carries the personality of the person who made it.

The names of the four inks in the Sailor's Voyage ink set are handwritten by the blenders themselves on the labels and in a special leaflet that comes in the box, and the artwork around them is inspired by ink. It feels less like a product and more like a letter from the people who mixed it.
