Description
The Sailor Professional Gear Celestial Outflow fountain pen is a full-size Sailor Pro Gear with a galaxy-inspired finish: deep black resin paired with bright rhodium-plated trim. At its heart is Sailor's celebrated 21K gold nib, one of the most distinctive nibs made anywhere in the world. If you want a serious luxury Japanese fountain pen for daily writing, this is one to put at the top of your list.
Why writers love the Sailor Professional Gear
The Professional Gear is instantly recognisable by its flat-topped ends and balanced, modern shape. This full-size version is 129mm capped and 147mm posted, with a 13.2mm diameter and a total weight of 22g (9g cap, 13g barrel). It's light and comfortable enough for long writing sessions, and the screw cap posts securely for extra length.
The 21K gold nib
Sailor is one of the very few pen makers to use 21K gold for its nibs. The result is a nib with a gentle softness and a characteristic feedback, a little like writing with a sharp pencil, which gives excellent control and a very precise line. The nib is available in Fine, Medium Fine, Medium and Broad. Japanese nibs run finer than European sizes, so if you're used to European pens, consider going one size up.
Cartridge and converter included
Both a cartridge and a converter come in the box. A Sailor cartridge holds about 1.19ml, and the converter about 0.68ml, so you can use Sailor's own inks or any bottled fountain pen ink. Sailor pens use Sailor's own cartridge fitting.
