The Visconti Qwerty Limited Edition fountain pen is inspired by the alphanumeric keyboard patented in 1864 by Christopher Sholes. With this pen, Visconti pays homage to a timeless system, born with typewriters, but still present today in everyday life. The Qwerty collection features a black acrylic body encased by an engraved, aged sterling silver overlay adorned with detailing in enamel and fitted with an 18k gold nib. The clip features a pressure mechanism and is reminiscent of the strikers of old typewriters. The fountain pen is engraved on three different levels with a special technique which gives the writing instrument a three-dimensional effect. The pen's center band is engraved in Visconti's workshop then enameled with 'qwerty' in both upper and lower case. At the lower end, there is the letter V (like Visconti) both upper and lower case; while at the top the V in the circle recalls the old ivory keys. A Power Filler Double Reservoir system holds huge ink capacity and this pen is limited to just 388 pieces worldwide.
