Description
A celebration of art, heritage and masterful engineering, the Pelikan Souverän M600 Art Collection Fountain Pen, Georg Tippel is the third edition in Pelikan's Art Collection. This 2026 special edition reimagines Georg Tippel's 1899 poster 'Grundfarben' as a luminous, engraved pattern wrapped around the barrel.

- Nib: two-tone 14K gold, EF, F, M or B
- Filling: Pelikan piston, about 1.65ml
- Trim: 24K gold-plated
- Size: 133mm closed, 154mm posted, about 29g
From poster to pen
Georg Tippel's 'Grundfarben' (primary colours) was created for Pelikan's first poster competition at the end of the nineteenth century: a pelican caring for its chicks, framed by flowing clouds. Those cloud formations have been transformed into a continuous pattern across the barrel, paying homage to Pelikan's early visual identity.
The Aurora process
The Art Collection is made with Pelikan's Aurora process: fine guilloché engravings lie beneath layers of translucent lacquer, creating remarkable depth, luminosity and a dynamic play of light. The decorated sleeve is framed by semi-transparent warm brown resin.
Our team's highlights
- Guilloché patterned body with the 'Grundfarben' artwork
- Multi-layered lacquer over fine engravings for depth and brilliance
- 24K gold-plated cap rings and Pelikan's beak-shaped clip
- The third release in the coveted Art Collection series
Writing performance
The two-tone 14K gold nib is available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad. Pelikan's signature piston mechanism holds a generous supply of bottled ink, and the metal sleeve gives the pen a more substantial feel than a standard M600.
Presentation
The pen comes in an exclusive book-style Pelikan gift box with a miniature reproduction of Tippel's original 'Grundfarben' poster, reinforcing its artistic legacy.
The Art Collection so far
The series began with Glauco Cambon in 2023, the first pen made with the Aurora process, followed by Rudi Rother in 2025. Georg Tippel continues the story in 2026.
