Seiryu: Limpid Stream
Seiryu means limpid stream, evoking calm, purity and flowing water. Blue lacquer powders create the moving water, with crushed abalone shell (raden) and silver powders catching the light like sunlight on a clear stream.
The Aya collection
Like every Aya pen, the Aya Seiryu uses its own coloured urushi lacquer to suggest a natural scene. The Aya Seiryu is finished in togidashi maki-e: gold and silver dust is sprinkled into the lacquer, covered with further layers of urushi and then polished back by hand until the design appears.
Namiki's No. 30 nib
Namiki's large No. 30 nib on the Aya Seiryu is 18K gold, engraved with Mount Fuji, and comes in Fine Medium, Medium or Broad. The Aya Seiryu fills with Pilot cartridges or the included Pilot CON-70 converter, holding up to about 1.4ml of ink.
