Custom 74 has been an absolute delight, bought from Makoba, broad nib, 14K gold. As an entry level gold nib, works perfectly fine. Though, people worried about nib size comparisons between western and Japanese nibs, should reconsider buying broad nib for pilot custom 74 thinking it at per with for western sizes, it is not. "Broad" seems like universally "Broad" .

The grip of the Pen is perfect. Nib moves on the paper very smoothly.
It would have been great if a Converter would have been provided with the Pen.

Was confused in Fine an EF nib, but then went with the EF and yes, thats the exact thickness i needed. The pen is smooth as a butter even with EF nib. It’s nothing like i have ever used. And a special thanks to Karuna mam for helping me out with the purchase and solving all my queries and doubts.. I was using Parker Vector for the whole of my life, since i remember using a pen. This one is just a bar ahead of that. Its not cheap though, but when you look at fountain pens cost for the good ones, it’s worth a spend…
About the cons…the pen is a bit thick, and the seam near the barrel is kind of noticeable.
After much deliberation, I decided to buy the Platinum Curidas Abyss Blue fountain pen from Makoba, as I was very intrigued by the retractable nib mechanism that this pen possesses. The translucent blue resin body shows off the intricate mechanism by which the nib is retracted into the body and is covered with a plastic cap to prevent the ink from drying. It writes as good as it looks and the medium SS nib is smooth with a satisfying tactile feedback. Overall a delicious pen and with Makoba's immaculate customer care, I hope to have many years of smooth writing.

The pen is excellently built with high grade acrylic. The vacumatic filling system is not only convinient but you can make in fill to the brim. In that case it can accomodate huge quantity of ink. The nib is "broad" but writes medium-broad and is glassy smooth on any kind of paper. After I carried it on a flight to Kolkata, it is having some ink flow issues and occassionally running dry. I think I shall have to wash it once the ink is finished.
It's impressive. 10/10. Upgraded version of Lamy 2000.
