Description
Unlock the full world of bottled ink with the Pilot CON-40 Fountain Pen Converter, a twist-action converter that lets cartridge-filling Pilot fountain pens draw ink straight from a bottle.
Key highlights
- Brand: Pilot (Japan)
- Type: twist (rotary) converter
- Capacity: about 0.4ml
- Agitator: small metal beads
- Fits: Pilot cartridge/converter pens
- Colour: Silver
How the CON-40 works
Dip the nib into the bottle, then twist the end of the CON-40 to draw ink up into its clear reservoir. Twist the other way to expel ink when you want to clean the pen or change colours.
Agitator beads
Small metal beads inside the CON-40 move as you write, breaking up air bubbles so ink flows steadily down to the feed instead of sticking at the top of the converter.
Which pens does the CON-40 fit?
The CON-40 suits most Pilot fountain pens that take Pilot cartridges, including the Kakuno, Prera, Metropolitan (MR), Explorer, Capless and Parallel Pen, as well as cartridge/converter models in the Custom and Custom Heritage ranges.
Frequently asked questions
How much ink does the CON-40 hold?
About 0.4ml.
Will the CON-40 fit a non-Pilot pen?
No, it uses Pilot's own fitting, so it is meant for Pilot fountain pens.
Why are there beads inside the CON-40?
They act as an agitator to keep ink from clinging to the converter walls.
