Description
The Sailor Professional Gear Slim Shikiori Setsugetsu Soraha Manyou ball pen shares its name with the Man'yoshu, Japan's oldest surviving anthology of poetry, whose title is often translated as "collection of ten thousand leaves". It's fitting, then, that this pen comes in a rich leafy green resin, finished with gold plated trim.
For people who love words
We think of this as a writer's pen. It's a lovely gift for poets, journal keepers, literature students, teachers, editors, and anyone who still writes letters by hand. The green is deep and natural, and the gold trim gives it a timeless, scholarly look.
Professional Gear design
The Pro Gear is instantly recognisable by its flat-topped ends, a modern twist on the traditional cigar-shaped pen. This Slim model is 133mm long and 12mm in diameter, making it sleek and pocket-friendly.
How it writes
At 29g, it has a noticeably solid feel, heavier than many plastic-bodied pens. The extra weight helps the tip roll smoothly with a light touch. A twist of the barrel extends or retracts the refill, and ballpoint ink dries fast on everyday paper.
Frequently asked
What does Setsugetsu mean?
It combines the Japanese words for snow and moon, classic seasonal images in Japanese art and poetry.
Is this a slim pen?
It's the Slim version of the Professional Gear, with a 12mm diameter.
