Description
Ever looked up on a clear night away from the city lights and seen the sky dusted with stars? That's hoshikuzu, Japanese for stardust, and it's the inspiration behind the Sailor 1911 Casual Shikiori Hisakata Hoshikuzu ball pen. A deep blue resin barrel with chrome trim, it's a Japanese luxury ball pen for people who like their everyday tools to carry a bit of poetry.
Who will love the Hoshikuzu?
- Students and researchers who fill pages of notes and want a pen that feels special without being fussy.
- Professionals who sign a lot of paperwork and like a calm, understated blue on the desk.
- Stationery collectors building a set from Sailor's Shikiori range, where every shade has its own story.
- Anyone searching for a thoughtful gift under the premium pen category that doesn't look like a standard corporate giveaway.
Design and handling
This is the 1911 Casual profile: rounded ends, a gently tapered barrel and a sturdy clip. It measures 134mm with a 12mm diameter and weighs 22g, which puts it in the comfortable middle ground between a featherweight plastic pen and a heavy metal executive pen. Twist the barrel to deploy the refill and twist again to retract it. Simple, silent and pocket-safe.
