How the Eclipse works
The Eclipse is Nahvalur's first capless fountain pen. There is no button and no cap: you simply push the front and back halves of the twelve-sided aluminium barrel together, and the nib glides out with a solid click. Push again and it retracts, ready for your pocket. To refill, twist off the rear section to reach the converter. Nahvalur even adds a small raised guide on the converter so it always goes back in the right way.
Ruby: confident and expressive
Nahvalur describes Ruby as deep crimson with a confident, warm and unmistakably expressive character. Black trim keeps the look modern and bold, perfect for anyone who wants a pen with presence.
Why choose a capless fountain pen?
- Speed: ideal for quick notes in meetings, lectures and on the move
- One hand: extend and retract the nib without juggling a cap
- Nothing to lose: no cap rolling under the table
- Fountain pen feel: the smooth, expressive line of a real nib, with the convenience of a click pen
Thoughtful design details
The twelve facets give your fingers a secure hold and stop the pen rolling away, even with the removable clip taken off. The machined aluminium body feels solid at about 34g, with a balanced, premium heft.
Choosing your nib
Fine suits small handwriting and everyday notes, Medium is a confident all-rounder, and Broad shows off ink colour and shading beautifully.
Ink pairings
A deep red, burgundy or classic blue-black ink suits Ruby perfectly. Browse the bottled inks at Makoba to find your match.
