Description
Bright green, hot pink and a nib that just works: the LAMY AL-star Disco fountain pen is the kind of pen that makes you want to write a little more every day.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Disco edition look like?
A light green anodised aluminium body with a pink clip, a pink front ring and a translucent pink grip section. It is cheerful and summery, inspired by the disco and roller-skating culture of the 1970s and 80s.
Is it a good first fountain pen?
Yes. The AL-star's triangular grip helps you hold the pen correctly, the steel nib is smooth and forgiving, and cartridges make filling simple. It is one of the most recommended starter fountain pens around.
Which nib sizes can I choose?
Extra Fine, Fine or Medium. The steel nib is interchangeable, so you can try other LAMY nibs later.
What ink does it use?
LAMY T10 cartridges; one blue cartridge comes in the box. To use bottled ink, add a LAMY Z28 converter, sold separately.
Can I see how much ink is left?
Yes, the barrel has a window that shows the cartridge or converter inside.
Is it a limited edition?
Disco is one of LAMY's 2026 special editions. These are not numbered limited editions, but special colours are typically available for a limited time.
Write in colour
Try it with a bright green, pink or turquoise ink for a matching look, or keep it classic with blue-black. Either way, this LAMY special edition fountain pen turns daily journaling, lecture notes and letters into something fun.
Caring for your AL-star
Every few weeks, or whenever you change ink, pull the nib section away from the cartridge and flush it with lukewarm water until it runs clear. Let it dry nib-down on a tissue, insert a fresh cartridge, and your Disco will write as smoothly as the day you bought it.
