A grain like no other
Burl wood forms where a tree's growth twists into a dense, swirling knot. Its pattern is unpredictable and utterly unique, so every Thuja burl Classic carries its own lively, marbled grain in warm brown tones.
About Graf von Faber-Castell
The Faber-Castell family has been making writing instruments since 1761. Its luxury Graf von Faber-Castell line, launched in 1993, is defined by the Classic collection: fluted wooden barrels, platinum plating and a solid, spring-loaded clip that is both beautiful and practical.
The writing experience
The 18K bicolour gold nib is handmade and run in by hand, giving a smooth, cushioned feel with a lovely, responsive line. At around 37g, the pen feels substantial yet balanced, ideal for long letters and signing important documents.
Choosing your nib
- Extra Fine and Fine: crisp lines for small handwriting and notes
- Medium: the versatile everyday choice
- Broad: a generous line that shows off ink colour
