Faber-Castell Ambition Ball Pen - Italic Ice Blue CT

Faber-Castell Ambition Ball Pen - Italic Ice Blue CT

Cool, clear and collectable. The Faber-Castell Ambition Ballpoint Pen in Italic Ice Blue pairs a cool, icy blue resin barrel with polished chrome-plated metal at the cap and tip. Slim, light and beautifully balanced, the Italic Ice Blue Ambition is a pen made for daily writing.

Faber-Castell has been making writing tools in Germany since 1761, and the Ambition range, here in Italic Ice Blue, is its modern classic. The Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint keeps the line's signature straight silhouette and smooth twist action, and adds a finish all of its own. Italic Ice Blue is for collectors and anyone who likes a cool, light-coloured pen that stands apart.

The Ambition design

The Ambition is one of Faber-Castell's best-loved designs: a long, slender, perfectly straight barrel finished at both ends with polished, chrome-plated metal. There is nothing unnecessary about it. The proportions are elegant, the lines are clean, and the pen sits lightly but securely between the fingers. It is the kind of design that never goes out of fashion, which is why it has become a favourite in offices, universities and gift boxes around the world.

The Italic Ice Blue finish

Italic Ice Blue gives the Ambition a crisp, wintry colour: a pale, cool blue that feels fresh and calm. It was released as a limited edition, so it is a little harder to find than the core Ambition colours.

The pale blue resin contrasts beautifully with the polished chrome cap, clip and tip. It is a soft, elegant colour that looks just as good in a formal setting as it does on a creative desk.

Twist mechanism

The Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint works with a smooth twist of the cap section. Turn it one way and the refill extends; turn it back and the tip retracts safely inside the Italic Ice Blue barrel. The spring-loaded clip holds the Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint securely in a pocket or diary.

Slim and comfortable

The Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint is about 134mm long and 11mm across and weighs around 30g. The Italic Ice Blue Ambition is slim enough to slip into a planner loop or a jacket pocket, yet it has enough weight to feel steady and controlled on the page.

A broad, bold line

Out of the box, the Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint writes with a Faber-Castell large-capacity refill in black, with a broad line width. The broad tip of the Italic Ice Blue Ambition glides with very little pressure and gives a confident, easy-to-read line, ideal for signatures and quick notes.

Caring for your ballpoint

Ballpoints are the most carefree pens to own. There is no ink to spill and nothing to dry out, so you can leave this pen in a drawer for months and it will still write instantly. Change the refill when the line starts to fade, store the pen in a case to protect its finish, and give it a gentle polish with a dry cloth. With this little attention, it will stay a favourite for years.

The Ambition family

Like this Italic Ice Blue pen, Ambition is a broad family of fountain pens, ballpoints, rollerballs and pencils, in finishes ranging from precious resin and wood to optical-art patterns and special editions with PVD coatings. Every Ambition shares the same straight barrel and polished cap, so the Italic Ice Blue ballpoint fits naturally into a larger collection. Many writers own more than one Ambition: a classic black resin for formal occasions, and a finish like Italic Ice Blue for everyday notes. If you are building a set, the matching Ambition fountain pen makes an excellent companion to the Faber-Castell Ambition Italic Ice Blue ballpoint.

A collector's Ambition

Limited editions give a familiar design a new story, and Italic Ice Blue is a good example. Because it was produced in limited numbers, it tends to become harder to find once stock runs out, which makes it a favourite with collectors who like to own the less common variations of a classic model. Beyond its rarity, the pale blue is simply a beautiful colour to carry: calm, light and fresh, it brightens a dark desk and looks crisp against white paper. It is a lovely choice for winter birthdays, for anyone who loves pastel shades, and for writers who prefer a softer alternative to black or navy pens.

A gift worth giving

This pen makes a thoughtful gift for students, professionals and anyone who still enjoys writing by hand. Unlike most gifts, a good pen is used every day and often kept for decades. It is a popular choice for birthdays, Diwali, anniversaries, new jobs and corporate occasions, and it comes in the original brand packaging.

Pair it with good paper

Paper matters as much as the pen. A smooth, well-sized paper lets your pen glide, keeps your writing crisp and shows off the colour of your ink. Explore our range of notebooks, journals and pads to complete your writing set.
