Description
The Sheaffer VFM fountain pen in Brushed Chrome is proof that a good metal fountain pen doesn't have to cost a fortune. VFM stands for "Very Fine Mark", and it's one of Sheaffer's most popular entry-level pens worldwide. This version has a satin brushed-chrome finish on a solid brass body with chrome trim, giving it a clean, professional look that works as well in a boardroom as in a classroom.
A metal body that feels solid in hand
Because the VFM is made of brass, it has a reassuring weight that plastic pens simply don't. It weighs 25g in total (16g barrel, 9g cap), is 137mm long capped, and has a slim 11.5mm diameter. The brushed finish hides fingerprints better than polished chrome, which is handy for a pen you'll use every day. The snap cap clicks on and off quickly, and it posts on the barrel if you prefer a longer writing length.
Smooth Medium steel nib
This model comes with a Medium steel nib, which gives a confident, smooth line that suits signatures, everyday notes and anyone who likes a slightly bolder stroke. It's a forgiving nib for new fountain pen users, and it glides nicely on most office and notebook papers.
Simple cartridge filling
The VFM uses ink cartridges, and one is included in the box so you can start writing straight away. There's no bottle to open and nothing to clean; just swap in a new cartridge when it runs dry.
