What you notice first
The colour. It's a soft, friendly pink, and the chrome trim keeps it looking clean and modern rather than childish. The resin body feels smooth and warm, and the pen is well finished in the way you'd expect from a Japanese pen brand that has been around since 1911.
In the hand
At 133mm long, 12mm in diameter and 23g, it has a reassuring little bit of weight without being heavy. It suits medium to small hands especially well. There's no cap: you twist the barrel to bring the tip out and twist back to retract it, which is quick and quiet.
On paper
As a ballpoint, it's a no-fuss writer. It works on everyday printer paper, spiral notebooks, receipt books and forms, and the ink dries almost instantly, so there's no smudging when you close a diary or flip a page.
