Roller ball vs ball pen
A roller ball uses water-based ink, which flows more freely than the oil-based ink of a ballpoint. The result is a smoother writing feel, a darker line and less pressure needed from your hand. It's a great middle ground between a ball pen and a fountain pen.
Pocket-sized, full-sized
This is where the Kaweco Sport design really shines. Capped, the pen is just 107mm long, so it disappears into a pocket, wallet or small bag. Post the cap on the back and it grows to 127mm, a comfortable full writing length. The 13mm diameter is easy to hold, and at 12.2g it's very light.
Screw cap security
A screw cap keeps the roller ball tip sealed so it won't dry out, and it won't pop off in your pocket either.
The look
