Inspired by Venice
Visconti, the Florentine pen maker, looked across Italy to Venice for this edition: its palaces, bridges and centuries of trade and art. The silver filigree recalls the ornate metalwork of Venetian architecture, while the warm burgundy resin evokes the rich velvets and glass of the city. The finial is engraved with the Lion of Saint Mark, the emblem of Venice.
The double reservoir power filler
The Venetian Dream fills with Visconti's double reservoir power filler, a vacuum-style system that draws a large charge of ink into the barrel in one stroke. The pen's reservoir holds a generous amount of ink, so it is ready for long writing sessions, and the second reservoir helps keep ink flowing steadily.
A substantial writing instrument
This is a pen of real presence: about 160mm long, 20mm across and around 85g in weight. It is designed to be used unposted, and its clipless design keeps the lines of the silver filigree uninterrupted.
