Inspired by solar eruptions
Solar Flare Gold is the warmest colour in the Galaxy series. The shimmer in the resin seems to move as you turn the pen, like light dancing on the surface of the sun, while the black trim gives it a sharp, contemporary edge.
About the Galaxy collection
Sailor released the Galaxy collection in 2026 as an overseas-only limited edition built on the 1911 Casual L. Five colours make up the set, each a shimmering resin inspired by space, all finished with black ion-plated metalwork.
How it writes
Sailor hand-finishes the large steel nib in Japan, giving it the precise, slightly feedback-rich writing feel Sailor fans love. Japanese sizes run finer than European ones, so a Sailor Medium is close to a European Fine.
Perfect pairings
Complement the glowing gold with Pilot Iroshizuku Yu-yake for sunset tones or Diamine Ancient Copper for rich shading. Rhodia Webnotebook, Midori MD and Life Noble notebooks show off fountain pen ink beautifully, and an Esterbrook pen holder makes a handsome display.
