A Sapphire Blue for Your Regular Pages
Consider Sapphire for personal letters, reading notes or the notebook you use to collect ideas. Blue is familiar enough for a regular writing routine while leaving room for the small differences that make one ink preferable to another. Rather than choosing only from a screen, judge your first sample on the paper you expect to use most often.
Getting to Know a New Ink
Write a short paragraph, a heading and a few individual lines, then allow them to dry before comparing the results. Your nib and paper both influence the appearance of the writing, so testing with your own pen is worthwhile. Fill according to your fountain pen’s instructions, using a compatible converter where required. If you are moving from another ink, follow the pen maker’s cleaning guidance before refilling so you can appreciate the new colour on its own.
