Named after volcanic glass
Obsidian is the shiny black glass formed when lava cools quickly. The marbled resin of the TWSBI Obsidian swirls from smoky grey to black, while a transparent window lets you see how much ink is left.
Piston filling, TWSBI style
TWSBI is famous for affordable piston fillers. To fill the Obsidian, twist the knob at the end to lower the piston, dip the nib into bottled ink, and twist it back to draw the ink up. The Obsidian holds a generous amount of ink, so no cartridges or converters are needed.
Easy to look after
TWSBI includes a wrench and a vial of silicone grease with the Obsidian, so you can take the piston apart, clean it and keep it running smoothly for years.
Frequently asked questions
