Description
Not a fire-engine red, and that is its charm. Private Reserve Vampire Red is a deep, brownish red with a coppery warmth, the colour of old leather bindings and autumn leaves, supplied in a 60ml glass bottle.
How it looks on paper
Private Reserve describes Vampire Red as an intense brown with a red tone. Reviewers compare it to terracotta and rust. The colour is even and calm, with little shading, so long pages look consistent from top to bottom.
Who will enjoy it
- Writers who find bright reds too loud for daily notes
- Journalers who love vintage, sepia-like tones
- Anyone building an autumn ink palette alongside browns and burgundies
Practical notes
It is a dye-based ink with no shimmer, so it is simple to flush from any fountain pen. It is not water resistant; choose a waterproof ink for envelopes or documents that may get wet.
