Between blue and violet

Twilight Periwinkle is a soft blue with a hint of lavender. It looks lovely with purple and blue inks showing through the Twilight Periwinkle Kakuno's barrel.

The Madoromi series

Madoromi, the name of the Kakuno Twilight Periwinkle's series, is Japanese for the drowsy moment between waking and sleep. Pilot's Madoromi Kakunos come in five soft translucent shades, Nimbus Gray, Azure Sky, Rosy Dusk, Twilight Periwinkle and Cumulus White, and the Kakuno Twilight Periwinkle is one of them.

Made for learning to write

Like every Kakuno, the Kakuno Twilight Periwinkle was designed to introduce people to fountain pens, with a hexagonal barrel that will not roll off the desk, a shaped grip that guides your fingers, and a smiling face on the nib that shows you which way up to hold it.

Nib and filling

We offer the Kakuno Twilight Periwinkle with a steel nib in Fine or Medium. The Kakuno Twilight Periwinkle comes with a Pilot cartridge; add a Pilot converter, sold separately, to use bottled ink.

Likes: I Just loved everything about this pen. It's suddenly become my everyday carry.
Pilot Kakuno

I bought this pen after hearing good things about it, but I didn’t expect much since everyone said it was just an entry-level pen. Turns, they were completely wrong. No one mentioned that once you use it, you’ll fall in love with it. They also left out the part about judging a book by its cover. This pen exceeds every standard I use to judge a pen—it’s simply fabulous. I absolutely love it, and it’s become my everyday carry.

Best first time experience with MAKOBA

I just bought my very first fountain pen the pilot kakuno madoromi series
I was really nervous about it, will it arrive on time or not is the only question that was going through my head
But on the day it arrived the packaging was super safe I mean it took me 5 min just to remove the packaging, the pen was perfect fine, sealed and not a scratch on it.
The only problem was that it arrived 2 days late.
But overall the experience was great I would love to shop again with Makiba

Extremely Smooth. The medium nib is equal to the fine nib of German-made nibs. Very satisfied with the Ink flow and ergonomics of the pen!

This is my first pilot product, I loved it.

Beautiful Pen

My first purchase from makoba. It’s a wonderful fountain pen for small handwriting. The point is finer than a usual Lamy fine nib. And the pen writes with a buttery smooth texture on Tomoe river paper.
It was also delivered very quickly after ordering. The packaging was very nice. Would love to purchase from Makoba again.

The Pilot con-40 fountain pen writes like a dream. And the Leuchtturm 1917 notebook is gorgeous! The design is so thoughtful. I especially love the little pouch in the back cover!

It’s a fantastic pen, the grip section is very comfortable. Had to switch out the fine nib for medium, medium is more to my taste but it writes very nicely now.
