The colour of a rain cloud
Nimbus Gray is a smoky, translucent grey that works with any ink colour, so the Nimbus Gray Kakuno is a versatile pick for adults and students.
The Madoromi series
Madoromi, the name of the Kakuno Nimbus Gray's series, is Japanese for the drowsy moment between waking and sleep. Pilot's Madoromi Kakunos come in five soft translucent shades, Nimbus Gray, Azure Sky, Rosy Dusk, Twilight Periwinkle and Cumulus White, and the Kakuno Nimbus Gray is one of them.
Made for learning to write
Like every Kakuno, the Kakuno Nimbus Gray was designed to introduce people to fountain pens, with a hexagonal barrel that will not roll off the desk, a shaped grip that guides your fingers, and a smiling face on the nib that shows you which way up to hold it.
Nib and filling
We offer the Kakuno Nimbus Gray with a steel nib in Fine or Medium. The Kakuno Nimbus Gray comes with a Pilot cartridge; add a Pilot converter, sold separately, to use bottled ink.

R
NPS score:
Likes: Nib (medium point) is smooth and writing is a pleasure.
Improvements: Add a safety clip to prevent the pen falling off from the shirt pocket.
For the money spent, the Pilot Kakuno fountain pen is good value for money. It writes quite smoothly. Only thing I dislike is the it has no clip to safely secure the pen in your shirt pocket.
The delivery came one day earlier than estimated.
