Description
Pencils do not have to be boring. The LAMY AL-star 0.5mm mechanical pencil in Rollerskate is a 2026 special edition that turns your daily sketches, sums and to-do lists into something you actually look forward to.
The look
The Rollerskate edition rolls in with a bright pink anodised aluminium body, set off by a translucent blue grip section and a blue clip and front ring. Pink and blue together feel fresh, sporty and a little bit retro, like neon signs at a weekend skating rink.
About the 2026 special editions
Disco and Rollerskate are LAMY's second AL-star special editions of 2026, released in summer 2026 with a playful nod to the disco and roller-skating culture of the 1970s and 80s. LAMY special edition colours are typically available for a limited time, which is why collectors snap them up quickly.
Why you will enjoy using it
- 0.5mm lead: fine enough for technical drawing and neat notes, sturdy enough for everyday writing
- Push-button mechanism: a quick click advances the lead
- Eraser under the cap: a replaceable LAMY Z18 eraser, with a lead-clearing needle, is always to hand
- Triangular grip: helps students and long-session writers hold the pencil comfortably
- Aluminium body: light and durable, made to survive school bags and travel
Refills
It uses standard LAMY M41 0.5mm leads, easy to find and easy to replace.
Who it is for
Design and architecture students, artists, engineers and anyone who wants their mechanical pencil to match their personality. Pair it with the Rollerskate fountain pen or ballpoint for a matching set.
Getting the best from a 0.5mm pencil
Rotate the pencil slightly as you write to keep the lead point even, and use HB or B leads for everyday notes or harder H grades for crisp technical lines. Refill by removing the cap and eraser and dropping new leads into the barrel.
