Opus 88 is a fountain pen brand from Taiwan that has built a devoted following for its eyedropper-filled pens and striking acrylic materials. The Mini is one of its most loved models, and the Savannah series brings wild animal patterns to it.
Eyedropper filling, explained simply
Instead of a cartridge, you fill the barrel of an eyedropper pen directly with bottled ink, usually with a dropper or syringe. The upside is a large ink capacity, so you can write for a long time between refills. It's also a great way to use your favourite bottled inks.
Tip: like any eyedropper pen, it's best kept upright in a pocket or pen stand, and it's a good habit to top it up before it runs almost dry.
Pocket size, full comfort
Closed, the pen is just 117mm long, perfect for a shirt pocket or small pouch. Post the screw cap on the back and it extends to 138mm, a comfortable full writing length. The 14.5mm diameter gives a chunky, easy grip, and the pen weighs 24g.
Nib choices
Choose a steel nib in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad or a 1.4 Stub. Fine and Medium suit everyday writing, while the 1.4 stub creates lovely thick-and-thin lines for headings and journaling.
