The Sailor Hi-Ace Calligraphy pen is a simple, affordable way to start italic and broad-edge lettering. The clear, see-through body lets you watch your ink level, and the steel italic nib is made by Sailor in Japan, a brand known for the quality of its nibs.
Choose your line width: 1mm or 2mm
The nib comes in two widths. The 1mm is the better choice for everyday italic handwriting, journaling headers and smaller calligraphy; it adds character to normal writing without being hard to control. The 2mm gives bolder thick-and-thin strokes, which suits practice sheets, cards, posters and larger lettering. Many beginners buy both.
Light and easy to hold
At only 10.6g (3.6g cap, 7g barrel), the Hi-Ace is very light, so your hand won't tire during long practice sessions. It measures 136mm capped and 150mm posted, with a 9.5mm diameter, and the snap cap is quick to remove between strokes. The clear resin body is finished with chrome trim.
Filling
The pen uses cartridges or a converter, and neither is included in the box, so remember to add ink cartridges or a converter to your order. The cartridge capacity is about 1.19ml.
