Description
The Pelikan M815 Metal Striped Green is one of those pens you notice from across a desk. It takes the familiar Souverän shape that Pelikan fans know so well and wraps it in a striped metal pattern set against deep green, finished with palladium-plated trim. It's a Special Edition, so it won't be around forever.
A heavier, more substantial Souverän
The metal in the barrel is what sets the M815 apart from the resin M800. At 37g in total (26g barrel, 11g cap), it has real heft in the hand and feels planted on the page. If you like a pen that you can feel working, this is a very satisfying writer. At 141mm capped and 166mm posted, with a 13.5mm diameter, it suits medium to large hands comfortably.
18K gold nib and Pelikan's piston filler
Under the cap sits an 18K gold nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad. Pelikan gold nibs are known for smooth, generous ink flow, and the M800-size nib gives a little cushion without being soft. Filling is by Pelikan's built-in piston mechanism, holding about 1.52ml of bottled ink, so you get to use any ink you like and won't need to refill every day. A screw cap keeps everything secure when you're carrying it.
