Description
Want the smooth glide of liquid ink without the fuss of a fountain pen? The LAMY AL-star rollerball pen in Rollerskate gives you exactly that, wrapped in one of the most cheerful colour schemes LAMY has ever made.
A design with a soundtrack
Picture a 1970s roller rink: pink lights, blue neon, music you cannot help moving to. LAMY captures that mood with a bright pink aluminium body, a blue clip and front ring, and a translucent blue grip. It is fun without being childish, which makes it a favourite with students, creatives and grown-ups who refuse to own boring pens.
What a rollerball does differently
A rollerball uses water-based liquid ink, so it writes with almost no pressure. Lines come out rich and dark, closer to a fountain pen than a ballpoint. That makes it ideal for long notes, letters and anyone who presses too hard with ordinary pens.
Details that make it a LAMY
- LAMY M63 rollerball refill, black, medium
- Snap-on cap that posts on the back
- Robust, lightweight anodised aluminium body
- Triangular transparent grip for a relaxed, steady hold
- Sprung metal clip that slips onto pockets and notebook covers
A 2026 special edition
The Rollerskate and its sister edition Disco are LAMY's second AL-star special editions of 2026, released in summer 2026 with a playful nod to the disco and roller-skating culture of the 1970s and 80s. Special edition colours tend to be around for a limited time, so it is worth getting yours early.
Caring for a rollerball
Always snap the cap back on when you are not writing, as liquid ink can dry if left exposed. Store spare M63 refills with their tips covered, and you will enjoy a perfect, skip-free line from the first word to the last.
