A safe black for any pen
Many permanent black inks use carbon pigments, which can dry and block a fountain pen if it is left unused. Hongdian Black avoids carbon altogether. It is a dye-based ink that is easy to flush out, so you can use it in every pen in your collection without worry.
For students and daily writers
Black is the standard colour for many exams, forms and documents. With 60ml in each bottle, this ink is an economical choice for students, teachers and anyone who writes every day.
Why writers choose it
- Smooth flow in steel and gold nibs
- Affordable 60ml bottle
- Easy cleaning with water
Writing tips
For the crispest lines, pair it with good quality paper. On very thin or absorbent paper, a fine nib helps prevent feathering.
Frequently asked questions

Probably not well: it is a standard dye ink and not designed for water resistance.
Is it suitable for calligraphy?
Yes, it works well in fountain pens and dip pens for practice.
