Who are the Bajau?
The Bajau are the 'Sea Nomads' of the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. For generations they have lived on house-boats called lepa, travelling the seas and diving to remarkable depths on a single breath. Their life is shaped by the ocean in a way few cultures can match.
How the pen tells their story
- A resin gradient that recalls sunlight on tropical water
- A lost-wax cast clip in the shape of a lepa boat
- A barrel band with motifs from Bajau ceremonial dress
Hand-turned resin
The custom resin was developed by Jonathon Brooks of Carolina Pen Company, known for his vivid, layered blanks. Each barrel is turned individually, so the pattern on every pen is unique.
A rollerball for everyday luxury
With a generous 16mm body and a weight of about 42g, it feels substantial and balanced, and the rollerball refill gives a smooth, effortless line.
