Part of the 1898 collection
The 1898 Spectra Fusion Blue fountain pen takes its shape from Conklin's 1898 line, named for the company's founding year in Toledo, Ohio: a cigar profile, an engraved cap ring and the crescent clip.
Fused by hand
To make the 1898 Spectra Fusion Blue fountain pen, Conklin pours pigmented epoxy around stabilized maple burl before turning and polishing it, so the boundary between wood and colour differs on every pen.
Nib and filling
A German-made JoWo #6 steel nib writes on the 1898 Spectra Fusion Blue fountain pen. For the 1898 Spectra Fusion Blue fountain pen, choose Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, a 1.1mm stub or Omniflex, and fill with international cartridges or the included converter.
