Description
East meets West in the Scribo Piuma Tamenuri Fountain Pen Hane Murakumo (Limited Edition). It's an Italian-made Scribo Piuma finished with Japanese nuritate urushi lacquer, in a light brown tone smoked over candle flame. The result is a warm, layered surface with real depth, and a pen that feels truly handcrafted.
What is tamenuri?
Tamenuri is a traditional Japanese lacquering technique in which layers of urushi are built up so that the colours beneath gently show through over time. Urushi itself is a natural lacquer made from tree sap, prized for its warmth and durability.
The finish
On Hane Murakumo, the light brown urushi has been smoked over candle flame, giving it soft, cloud-like variations in tone. Murakumo means gathering clouds in Japanese, a fitting name for this gentle, shifting finish. No two pens look exactly the same.
An 18K gold nib, your way
The pen is fitted with an 18K gold nib offered in six sizes: Extra Extra Fine, Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad and Double Broad. That range means there's an option for everything from tiny margin notes to bold, expressive writing.
Dimensions and design
The Piuma is clipless, which shows off the lacquer uninterrupted. It measures 145mm capped and 175mm posted, with a 15.6mm diameter, and weighs 30g (11g cap, 19g barrel). Both a cartridge and a converter come in the box.
A limited edition to treasure
Handcrafted lacquer work and a gold nib make this an heirloom-quality pen for collectors and for anyone marking a special milestone.
