The grand success of 1911 series by Sailor paved the way for the launch of another characteristic edition that had a master stroke to it. The success of 1911 has been a result of pure balance, comfort and elegant shape of the series. Riding on the success of the 1911, Sailor decides to launch 1911 Naginata Togi, a series which featured a specially crafted nib by master nib-designer Nobuyoshi Nagahara, and the prowess of his son Yukio Nagahara. The specially tipped nib resembles a Japanese Long Sword, which is what Naginata-Togi means. The rounded tip provides variable line width depending on the angle of holding the pen to the paper. The lower the angle, broader will be the store. In this way the writing is is similar to a Sailor Zoom nib. The tip is also ground so that it writes thicker on the cross stroke and thinner on the down stroke, like an Architect nib. It’s really a blend of Zoom and Architect, which is quite unique and not available from any other pen manufacturer. The Sailor 1911 Naginata-Togi nib features wonderful ink flow and allows the pen to write at any writing angle and remains smooth across the paper. The pen comes with a Sailor converter to be used with bottled ink and can also use Sailor ink cartridges.
