Smooth and pleasant writing experience
The new Parker 51 is the new edition of a legend in the days gone by. I have my Father's Parker 51 and I wanted to try the latest version. It is good, but doesn't feel classy. It writes smoothly without any skipping. The finish could have been better. There is a gap between the hood and nib which doesn't look good. I would have liked the cap to be of a push mechanism rather than the turn. Aerometric filling would have been nice. Falls way short of the legend. Good everyday pen.

Scrikss Honour 38 Fountain Pen. Appearance great. The grip and balance is very comfortable. The nib gives a very broad handwriting, though. I use 'Waterman' ink. A medium width would have been excellent. Would be nice if you could change the nib. Otherwise I do not see it being used.

The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful resin. The play of colors. I own a few Leonardos, Ranga all of which are colorful. The Botanical Garden appeared different. Moreover I wanted to add an Esterbrook to my collection. The pen I recieved is even better than I imagined. I expected a fine nib to be, thicker than fine or scratchy because American/ European manufacturing definition of " Fine" is somewhat different from Asian " Fine". However, Estie has proven me wrong. The pen arrived in record time and in pristine condition for which I will congratulate Makoba. Usually, I buy pens in person because of delivery woes. But now Makoba has made me a believer. The Estie is regarded as a very reliable pen. Great build quality and attention to details. If I don't point out a shortcoming people may think this is a paid review. Therefore only one peeve. The pen cannot be posted safely. The cap spring mechanism can cause accidental torpedoing of the cap.

The packaging was very neat and decent. They even gave a pen case as a complimentary gift. The engraving service was a nice finish. The only matter was their website was not updated so we didn't know additional charges are to be made for engraving service. But Makoba took responsibility and paid for it due to the system error. And most of the luxury brand pens are sold out which is quite sad. Hope you'll have more stock in the future so I can purchase more. Thank you for your vest service Makoba.
